Once again, only slightly less than 5% of competition entrants produced scores in the 70s. Congratulations to all of those who broke that barrier on the July set. Leading the field with a perfect 80/80 is:
Mark Alexander Reeve from Vietnam
Mark learned to play at university in Bristol and he says that he played a few congresses in his younger days back in the UK. Mark now lives in Singapore, but still represents Vietnam, where he lived for the last 10 years with his wife Linh and daughter Vy. He says, “There's not much bridge played in Vietnam, and now I just play the occasional game at the Geylang West bridge club in Singapore. These days I spend most of my free time training for Ironman triathlons.”

Mark is our first winner from Asia in 2026. There were three (two from China and one from Pakistan) in 2024 and one from India in 2025. Mark is our first monthly winner from Vietnam.
It’s tough chasing the two frontrunners in this year’s annual competition: Brian and David both make the roll of honour this month.
