RealBridge Credit

Page updated 28 August 2025.

ACBL and CBF members

For all ACBL-sanctioned events on RealBridge, you pay your entry fee using RealBridge Credit.

How it works

  • Whenever it suits you, you purchase RealBridge Credit. You can purchase as much or as little as you like (subject to the limits below).
  • You can purchase RealBridge Credit in your own currency - USD, CAD, EUR or GBP.
  • The amount you pay becomes the same amount of RealBridge Credit, in the same currency. For example, if you spend 40 USD, that buys you 40 USD in RealBridge Credit.
  • When you are logged into RealBridge, you see a list of upcoming games. Each upcoming session shows the entry fee, in your currency. The entry fee is set by the club that runs the session (subject to the ACBL's minimum advertised price policy). For a club game, the entry fee is usually in the range 2-10 USD / 3-14 CAD.
  • In order to join a game, you must have sufficient RealBridge Credit to cover the entry fee.
  • When you join a game, at the start of play the entry fee is deducted from your RealBridge Credit.
  • The published entry fee includes any Sales Tax or VAT that may be applicable, so the entry fee is the total that will be deducted from your RealBridge Credit.

Conditions of purchasing and using RealBridge Credit

  1. The maximum amount of RealBridge Credit that you can hold at any time is 1000 USD or the equivalent.
  2. The maximum amount of RealBridge Credit that you can purchase in any 24-hour period is 500 USD or the equivalent.
  3. If you try to make a purchase that exceeds either of these limits, it will be declined.
  4. RealBridge Credit is valid for 12 months from the day that you purchase it.
  5. RealBridge Credit can be used only for paying entry fees to bridge sessions hosted on the RealBridge platform.
  6. RealBridge Credit is non-transferable, non-refundable, and not otherwise convertible to cash.

Information for ACBL clubs

For all ACBL-sanctioned events on RealBridge, players pay their entry fees using RealBridge Credit.

How it works

  • You (the bridge club) use Real Bridge's Club Admin page to schedule a game. You set the entry fee per player (subject to the ACBL's minimum advertised price policy) in your preferred currency (USD or CAD).
  • The entry fee is the total that the player pays. See below for how this will be distributed between RealBridge, the ACBL, and you.
  • Whenever it suits them, a player purchases RealBridge Credit in their own currency. To see how it works from the player's perspective, see https://realbridge.online/for-acbl-players.html#rbcredit
  • When the player is logged into RealBridge, they see a list of upcoming games. Each upcoming session shows the entry fee, converted to the player's currency.
  • When the player plays in your game, the entry fee is deducted from their RealBridge Credit.
  • RealBridge sends your portion of the entry fees, plus the ACBL's sanction fee, to the ACBL, in your currency.
  • The ACBL sends you your portion of the entry fees.

How the entry fee is distributed

RealBridge subtracts from the entry fee:

  • RealBridge's platform fee. See https://realbridge.online/for-clubs.html#pricing . Note that RealBridge's platform fees are fixed for a given number of boards, regardless of what you set the entry fee to.
  • A processing fee of 3.5%. This is to cover RealBridge's costs in accepting card payments for RealBridge Credit purchases.
  • Any Sales Tax or VAT that is due on these fees. These vary according to the location of the player.

The remainder is sent to the ACBL.

The ACBL subtracts the ACBL's sanction fee, and sends the balance to you.
