This proved to be the most challenging set so far this year, with just under 3% of competition entrants scoring in the 70s this month. Congratulations are due to all of those who broke that barrier on the August set. This month’s honour roll is particularly sparse, and all of those on it also managed to outscore the entire panel. Leading the field with a tremendous 79/80 is:
Mihir Singhal from USA
Mihir is a grad student at UC Berkeley, studying computer science. He says, “My grandfather taught me bridge when I was young, and I picked it up again as an undergrad at our local bridge club.”

Mihir adds to the American domination of the monthly rankings during 2026. So far this year, eleven players have either won or jointly won a monthly competition, and five of those have been from USA.
