After a nail-biting finish to Last year’s annual competition, 2026 begins with just 7 points separating the Top 10 after three months. 11 of the Top 25 at this early stage (including the leading four), finished on the first page of the leader-board in 2025. At the head of the pack, the two British co-bronze medalists from 2025 are separated by just a single point.
Brian Spears, is a retired pharmacist from West Sussex, England. “I am an avid reader of all things bridge, who loves nothing more than talking bridge with a good friend who was a leading light in computer bridge programming, especially as it’s always over a beer!” says Brian. “No notable achievements, but a desire to continue to learn burns brightly. Dave Williams from Wales and Francois Duffour of France complete the top three at this stage. Three Americans, another Englishman, two Russians and a Dutchman complete the Top 10 at this early stage. There are 24 players who are averaging 70/80 or higher after the first three months of this year’s contest.
