Chris Jones started learning bridge 5 years ago, but has only been playing regularly for just over a year. As a retired developer, currently living in Alabama, USA, he thought writing a bridge program would speed his learning along. He also wanted a tool for easily modifying the deals he found in bridge books and articles. After several years of work, he has put together a flexible application that generates deals and provides multiple output options.
What sets him apart from others that do the same thing? It is the sheer flexibility of the configuration options. Anyone serious about coaching, teaching or practicing with their partner, needs to pay serious attention to this site.
Are you thinking of writing a book on a theme? Step right forward.
And his revenue model: this is a free application, for use by anyone.

Gonzalo Goded from Madrid, Spain is a regular in open representative bridge. A former developer but, unlike Chris, years away from retirement, he set about solving the eternal Vugraph issue: costly, error-prone and not scalable in a practical sense.
He’s almost there. What you will see in May is a fully functioning system, that has higher accuracy that almost all human operators.
Bridge Owl is a paid-for application. The complexity of the development and analysis means that a project like this, now in year 3, necessitate that.

Ray Spalding is the learned calm face of BridgeComposer, an application he first started working on back in 2001. He hasn’t stopped. Now retired, he worked in IT for Georgia Tech.
What does it do? You can edit hands, use a double-dummy solver, interactively play deals, use word processing commands to make the text look appealing and easy to read. If you input a deal and want to switch hands, suits, or drag-and-drop cards, it is very easy to do. Want to use it in another language? Sure, just input a dictionary for spelling check.
There are so many features that it would be hard for Ray to show you them all in a limited time. You are invited to watch the video here, and to look at his site. At the seminar, he is going to show 2 simple features and 2 advanced features.
BridgeComposer allows users to download an evaluation copy and use it for a month. A lifetime license is US$ 24.95.

Originally from France, Jean-Pierre Desmoulins is an IT professional specializing in Artificial Intelligence, and a long-time bridge teacher. He created a tool that allows teachers to have their students play their deals instead of just reading them. Simply upload your deal, set your preferences, define the objective and add your comments in just a few clicks — and you’ll get a link where your students can play the deal for free.
The transition is seamless: use Bridge, Out Ahead to generate deals, BridgeComposer to write commentary, analyze, modify, and prepare the model line of play, then Bridge-Training.com to distribute them.
Jean-Pierre funds the platform’s development through patronage, advertising, sponsorships — and his own sweat equity. Teacher Andrew Robson liked the tool so much that he purchased a full year of sponsorship.
Available in the following languages: English, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Greek, Polish, Dutch, and Swedish.
