This turned out to be a very difficult set of hands. On the panel, Barnet Shenkin led the way with 77/80 and only three other panelists scored in the 70s. Two competition entrants jointly topped the table with a score of 76/80:
Han Peters & Meike Wortel from Netherlands and
Piotr Koluda from Poland
Confirming how tough the set was, there were only two other scores of 75/80 or above. Other competitors on the January Honour Roll are, with 75/80:
Uday Ivatury from USA and
Venkatesh Ramaratnam from India
And, with a score of 74/80:
Steve de Roos from Belgium,
João Fanha from Portugal and
Paula Kron from Chile
We have all-European winners this month, but players from North America, Asia and South America at the top of the leaderboard.
Congratulations to everyone who scored in the 60s or 70s on what has proved to be a very difficult set.
