Hybrid Pair Game, January 2025 - Frequently Asked Questions

How do I sign up?

Choose the club where you want to play, and tell the club. The club will collect your entry and manage your sign-up. Enter as a pair.

What if my partner wants to play in another club?

Even if your partner lives in a different town, that’s fine. You can each play at the participating club that is closest to you. Only one of you should submit an entry. When you enter, tell the club that your partner will be playing at the other club.

How soon do I need to sign up?

Please sign up by 11 January 2025.

What if I change my mind or change partner?

Of course you can do that. But help us out by firming up your plans by 6 pm on Saturday 11 January please.

Which club can I play at?

There are 4 clubs you can play at. Here is the list of clubs:

  • Pasadena Bridge Club
  • Long Beach Bridge Center
  • South Bay Bridge Club
  • 750 Bridge Club

What equipment do I need?

A Windows laptop, MacBook, iPad, Chromebook or Android tablet.
You can’t use a smartphone or e-reader.

A headset or earbuds. Ideally this should have a built-in microphone. That is, you should be able to hear the audio and speak into it.

You may be able to use a headset with no microphone, and use the microphone that is built-in to your device. Please consult the club about this, as it depends on how close together the players are.

What software do I need?

RealBridge just uses a normal web-browser, like Google Chrome, Edge or Safari. Your device will already have this.

Special note for Android tablet users: make sure that you are using the full version of Chrome or Firefox. Some Android tablets come pre-installed with the manufacturer’s own web browser, which may not support the video technology that RealBridge uses.

How shall I practice and check my setup?

There will be at least 8 opportunities for you to practice.

Please come along to one of the practice sessions to get used to the RealBridge platform and so that you can check that your audio and video are working.
